Working class hero
1987
Darek Bylinka

Darek Bylinka’s “Working Class Hero” poster announced the eighth “Poza Kontrolą” review in the Rock Front series (CK ZSP PW “Riviera-Remont,” Warsaw, 28–30 August 1987). Against a red-and-black background, a battered Warsaw M-20 car—icon of the Polish working class—dominates the centre, underscoring the title slogan. White and red ray-bursts shoot out from the bodywork, giving the composition explosive, punk-style energy and elevating the vehicle to “working-class hero” status. Hand-drawn, graffiti-like lettering—WORKING CLASS HERO and the Rock Front logo—reinforces the DIY aesthetic. A thin strip at the bottom holds only the bare essentials—date, club address (ul. Waryńskiego 12) and phone numbers—because the primary message is rebellion, raw 1980s rock energy and an uncompromising attitude.
