Hybrydy 1957–1967

The poster commemorating the 10th anniversary of the Hybrydy Club (1957–1967), created for the Club Days held in January 1968, features two contrasting abstract forms—green and blue—placed vertically and resembling theatrical masks or graphic symbols. Between them, on a white background, are six pairs of eyes; however, upon closer inspection, these are not just eyes, but fragments of subtly outlined white faces, nearly blending into the background, gazing in different directions. These faces evoke a sense of invisible presence, like anonymous observers ghostly embedded in the space between the colorful forms. The upper part of the composition draws additional attention with the bold title “HYBRYDY 1957–1967” and a vertical text showing the event date. The poster was designed by Bronisław Modrzejewski, who, through a simple graphic form and the interplay of presence and absence, created an intriguing and unsettling composition.
